The vision:

The department’s vision is focused on its aspiration to be a local and global scientific and intellectual space for intellectual and mental preparation and assimilation of Islamic heritage; through dialogue, thought, debate, and coexistence between religions and sects, as well as dialogue of civilizations, based on the Almighty’s saying: “Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam” (Imran, verse 19).

 The department's mission is manifested in:

• Employing the data of the age to overcome intellectual obstacles in order to reach coexistence between religions, sects and civilizations, based on the Almighty’s saying: “There is no compulsion in religion” (Al-Baqarah, verse 256), in order to ensure social peace; by preparing effective cadres through the use of contemporary knowledge tools, and establishing a knowledge and intellectual base that serves the humanities and scientific disciplines; and contributes to building a generation of knowledge pioneers who believe in promoting the concepts of coexistence and tolerance between religions and sects, and who interact positively with the dialogue of civilizations.
• Working within intellectual horizons based on a deep knowledge that encompasses authentic Islamic schools, contemporary religious visions, and disciplined renewed visions to shape the contemporary Islamic mind through mechanisms to activate its activity and vitality so that it can market its cognitive, intellectual, and civilizational outputs to create a better reality and a brighter future.

• To broaden the horizons of learners in undergraduate and postgraduate studies, enrich their knowledge, and qualify them culturally and intellectually to analyze problems and comprehend crises in order to overcome them, and to protect them from being influenced by misguided and deviant beliefs and ideas.
• Instilling love for the Islamic religion in learners, respect for its cultural heritage and eternal message, developing virtues, spreading tolerance in societies, and combating extremism, fanaticism, and abhorrent sectarianism by building academic capacities to develop the scientific movement, improve reality, confront sedition, and overcome adversity.
• Preparing specialists in the fields of comparative religion, doctrines and civilizations, with bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, to support religious, educational and social institutions to contribute to building society, supporting it in faith, science and culture, and participating in its prosperity and progress.
• Serious efforts are being made to support diverse institutions with specialists in comparative religion, doctrines, and civilizations, after they have been prepared doctrinally and intellectually, and are far removed from extremism and fanaticism, to confront those who raise doubts about the Islamic religion.
• Highlighting the great status of Islam and strengthening its identity and pride in it through scientific Islamic educational curricula and practical activities that contribute to preparing the learner to respect and accept others by adopting civilized Islamic dialogue with other religions and cultures.
